New Name but Same Address

We have decided to change the name to Pillow Cases from Heaven due to the fact that it is getting very hard to get poly-fil fiber for the pillows and also in the small storage closet at the hospital there is only little room and lots of fluffy pillows take up alot of room, so therefore, we will use up what poly-fil that we have for pillows, but after that we will start making Pillow Cases which doesnt' require a lot of space. Also, not only will they be made for the Pediatric Floor at the Hospital, they will also be made for the Hem/Onc Clinic for all the kids that have an appointment they can pick out a pillow case and the Nurse can place in on the pillow for them. This will require alot less space and more children will benefit from all of this hard work.

So, to let you all know, we thank you for all you have sent and it certainly has been used for the children, but have run out of boy friendly fabrics yet if you could send more fabrics that would be greatly appreciated. I have some girl friendly fabrics left but I can always use both and I suppose there are just as many boys as there are girls. Also, if you decide to send us some poly-fil fiber to stuff some pillows we will gladly do so and distribute them to the children. Thanks again for helping and doing all that you have done thus far. May Christ richly bless each of you.

Here are a few pics of some of the pillow case we have already made and are at the Clinic being passed out.....

Blessed today.....

Today, my family and I received a call from another family member and they informed us that my husbands mother had a stroke and was being air lifted to Roanoke Memorial. After we arrived,i decided to go and visit one of the oncology kids that were in PICU...while there, I was escorted to meet one of the parents of a child who had received a pillow...they were so thankful and continued to tell me how their daughter just kept smiling after she received it. That is what its all about!!! The smiles that these pillows put on the faces of children, they also bring color to the rooms and make them more cheery. Well, after that I had left and went outside to my vehicle and upon coming back in I was stopped by a NA that was escorting a parent and her son outside and she also wanted to meet me and her son came up and told me "Thank You", so sweet to hear the kids say this. Thank you all who help make this possible because they are not only thanking me, they are also thanking all of you. Lord, if it be your Will, this will continue on.

New pillows

I have work on and have been able to make several pillows. I do believe I have been able to make close to 30 this time, and they have given out several to the kids here. The Nurses here are always telling me how happy the kids are and how appreciative the parents are. Oh, if you all could only see the kids here it would just break your heart. I wasn't able to make as many htis time due to the fact that we spent about 4 days in the PICU and I didn't have my sewing machine until this past Monday, but thats ok...also, I am so thankful that Christ has laid the making of pillows upon my heart and I thank Him for using you all to help make it all possible. <3 Thanks again.

I need to apologize wbout not being on here in a while but, we have been at Carilion Childrens Hospital since March 14th with Heaven. She became sick earlier that day and then later the high temps, etc. followed, so by 10:30 p.m. we made the trip to the hospital. We are still here as of today and several things have happened can read about it at . We have been in the PICU since Friday the 16th.... Anyways, hubby just brought me my sewing machine last night and so far I have been able to make 7 pillows and so far 2 have been given so far. I'd like to thank everyone who has made the making of these pillows and putting the smiles on the childrens faces.

Today I am going to finally sew some of the pillow shells at home, this way I won't have to lug the sewing machine and fabric and stuffing and all other items needed up to the room at the hospital. Also, one of the nurses pointed out the the "Project Linus" people make their blankets/quilts at home and hten bring htem in. So that helped me a lot to realize that I could do these pillows her at home and then jsut stuuf them and sew up the opening at the hospital. Thank you all for all the donations. We will do our bes tto keep this going as long as the Lord allows. Please continue to spread the word and donate to help us with being a blessing to many, many children.

Pillows are being made and handed out

We arrived at the hospital at about 9:30 a.m. this morning. We went to Jo-Anns and picked up a few things. We were at the hospital for about 7 hours before I even got my fabric and poly-fil pulled out. But once they were pulled out...I was able to sew together 8 pillows in a couple of hours. I do believe that 4 to 6 of them have been passed out. Below are a few pics for you to see. Hope you all have a totally blessed evening. <3

Just thought I'd remind you to please continue to pray for Heaven. May Christ bless you all abundantly.

Please pray as the Dr.s are having to give her very aggressive chemo so that they can drive this Leukemia back to hell where it belongs. Thanks You Jesus for keeping me focused on You and others instead of our own trial. ♥ For those who don't know Jesus personally...John 3:16:::For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Welcome to Our Newest Blog

Thank you for visiting our newest blog called "Pillows from Heaven". As you have already read, this blog was started in honor of our daughter Heaven who was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Nov. 29, 2011. At that point it felt as if the ground was jerked out from under our feet and a mountain was dropped on us at the same time.

But, with our faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour, He has taught us, quickly, how precious life is and how precious our children really are. We should love them at all times as if there will be no tomorrow so that they will know the love of Christ.

After an long stay in the hospital with Heaven for her first round of chemo...I really had nothing but the TV, the computer and a few word search books to keep my mind occupied.....well, that wasn't enough. I sat there night after night and heard the cries of the children there in the hospital and it just broke my heart, broken to the point I just wanted to go and hold them and let them know that it was going to be o.k. Well, after many nights of tears and praying, I finally asked Christ to help me figure out something to do to help comfort the kids there in the hospital. Prayer Answered!!!

For Heavens 2nd round of chemo, Christ had laid upon my heart to bring my sewing machine and lots of fabric to the hospital with me...not really knowing at the time what to actually do with it. When we arrived for chemo, the Lord spoke and told me to make pillows for the children at the hospital so they could be comforted. It's sorta like Linus (you know the little boy on Charlie Brown that totes his blankie around with him) well, that is what these pillows are for these children, a comfort for them to cry in, hold on to, squeeze, scream at when angry, and yet after everything they could do, the pillow will still be there and be comfortable when they lay down their heads to sleep.

Heaven will be entering her 3rd round of chemo soon, while this will be the hardest of the 3 so far, I will still work on making these pillows for the children here at Carilion Roanoke Children's Hospital (11th floor) so that my mind can keep focused on what Christ has called me to do at this present moment.

So, again, I thank you for stopping by and checking out our newest blog and make sure you check out the links at the top of the page and come back each day, for there will be something new added. I ask that you spread the word about "Pillows from Heaven" so that we can continue to put smiles on these precious children's faces. May God bless you each and every one.
