Pillows are being made and handed out

We arrived at the hospital at about 9:30 a.m. this morning. We went to Jo-Anns and picked up a few things. We were at the hospital for about 7 hours before I even got my fabric and poly-fil pulled out. But once they were pulled out...I was able to sew together 8 pillows in a couple of hours. I do believe that 4 to 6 of them have been passed out. Below are a few pics for you to see. Hope you all have a totally blessed evening. <3

Just thought I'd remind you to please continue to pray for Heaven. May Christ bless you all abundantly.

God Is Still Good...Amen!!!

Be a Blessing

For anyone who would like to help us in a small ministry and be a blessing to many, many children, you can go to our blog and make a donation to help. We now have PayPal up and running (boy it was hard to figure out). I know times are hard for everyone but I keep reminding myself that God is good and He will definately bless any amount that you can help with. Thank you all for your many prayers for Heaven and our family. We will be heading back to Carilion Clinic Childrens Hospital later this week (week Feb. 23-25th, 2012) for Heavens next round of chemo. Please pray as the Dr.s are having to give her very aggressive chemo so that they can drive this Leukemia back to hell where it belongs. Thanks You Jesus for keeping me focused on You and others instead of our own trial. ♥ For those who don't know Jesus personally...John 3:16:::For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Call upon Him today for tomorrow may be to late.

Packing Up

I am packing up all the fabric to take to the hospital next week. Heavens numbers look good and we think we will be going early in the week. So I have all the fabric for the pillows and I also cut out some fabric for Baby Binkie Bids to make for the wee lil'ones, and I think with the $$ that has been donated that I will pick up poly-fil fiber in Roanoke at Jo-Ann fabrics, this way my truck won't be filled to the top...lol.

Thank you all again for the donations, please keep them coming and I hope to get more pics of the kids on here for everyone to see their smiles. May our Saviour continue to bless you all. <3

Cool Sunday

Well, didn't post yesterday because I ran out of time. But for the most part, yesterday I cut and ironed and cut and ironed and cut and ironed some more, By the time I was done I had cut and ironed :) enough fabric that had been donated for about 35 pillows or more.

Today, I have packed my bags of fabric and I am getting them ready for the hospital whenever they tell us that its time to go back. Also, my neighbors showed up at our door after church and had a big box of fabric that someone at their church had donated.....I now have fabric for about 20+ more pillows. Praise the Lord!!!

Thank you all so much for your donations :)

Beautiful Sunny Friday

Bought several pieces of fabric to use for the pillows...really cute fabircs to. Praying that more fabric and poly-fil fiber will start coming in. These pillows are so comforting to the children, I sure wish all of you could see their first reaction when they receive a pillow...it's amazingly heart-touching.

Today and tomorrow I will be getting all the fabrics and other items to gether in one BIG bag to take to the hospital when Heaven and I have to return for her 3rd round of chemo...so, gonna be busy here for the next couple of days, so if you have some donations for us...go ahead and get them shipped out.

Thank you all so much for all you do , and may Christ bless you all as you have blessed us.

Welcome to Our Newest Blog

Thank you for visiting our newest blog called "Pillows from Heaven". As you have already read, this blog was started in honor of our daughter Heaven who was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Nov. 29, 2011. At that point it felt as if the ground was jerked out from under our feet and a mountain was dropped on us at the same time.

But, with our faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour, He has taught us, quickly, how precious life is and how precious our children really are. We should love them at all times as if there will be no tomorrow so that they will know the love of Christ.

After an long stay in the hospital with Heaven for her first round of chemo...I really had nothing but the TV, the computer and a few word search books to keep my mind occupied.....well, that wasn't enough. I sat there night after night and heard the cries of the children there in the hospital and it just broke my heart, broken to the point I just wanted to go and hold them and let them know that it was going to be o.k. Well, after many nights of tears and praying, I finally asked Christ to help me figure out something to do to help comfort the kids there in the hospital. Prayer Answered!!!

For Heavens 2nd round of chemo, Christ had laid upon my heart to bring my sewing machine and lots of fabric to the hospital with me...not really knowing at the time what to actually do with it. When we arrived for chemo, the Lord spoke and told me to make pillows for the children at the hospital so they could be comforted. It's sorta like Linus (you know the little boy on Charlie Brown that totes his blankie around with him) well, that is what these pillows are for these children, a comfort for them to cry in, hold on to, squeeze, scream at when angry, and yet after everything they could do, the pillow will still be there and be comfortable when they lay down their heads to sleep.

Heaven will be entering her 3rd round of chemo soon, while this will be the hardest of the 3 so far, I will still work on making these pillows for the children here at Carilion Roanoke Children's Hospital (11th floor) so that my mind can keep focused on what Christ has called me to do at this present moment.

So, again, I thank you for stopping by and checking out our newest blog and make sure you check out the links at the top of the page and come back each day, for there will be something new added. I ask that you spread the word about "Pillows from Heaven" so that we can continue to put smiles on these precious children's faces. May God bless you each and every one.
