Blessed today.....

Today, my family and I received a call from another family member and they informed us that my husbands mother had a stroke and was being air lifted to Roanoke Memorial. After we arrived,i decided to go and visit one of the oncology kids that were in PICU...while there, I was escorted to meet one of the parents of a child who had received a pillow...they were so thankful and continued to tell me how their daughter just kept smiling after she received it. That is what its all about!!! The smiles that these pillows put on the faces of children, they also bring color to the rooms and make them more cheery. Well, after that I had left and went outside to my vehicle and upon coming back in I was stopped by a NA that was escorting a parent and her son outside and she also wanted to meet me and her son came up and told me "Thank You", so sweet to hear the kids say this. Thank you all who help make this possible because they are not only thanking me, they are also thanking all of you. Lord, if it be your Will, this will continue on.

New pillows

I have work on and have been able to make several pillows. I do believe I have been able to make close to 30 this time, and they have given out several to the kids here. The Nurses here are always telling me how happy the kids are and how appreciative the parents are. Oh, if you all could only see the kids here it would just break your heart. I wasn't able to make as many htis time due to the fact that we spent about 4 days in the PICU and I didn't have my sewing machine until this past Monday, but thats ok...also, I am so thankful that Christ has laid the making of pillows upon my heart and I thank Him for using you all to help make it all possible. <3 Thanks again.

3-21-12

I need to apologize wbout not being on here in a while but, we have been at Carilion Childrens Hospital since March 14th with Heaven. She became sick earlier that day and then later the high temps, etc. followed, so by 10:30 p.m. we made the trip to the hospital. We are still here as of today and several things have happened since...you can read about it at http://thecoblerscorner.blogspot.com . We have been in the PICU since Friday the 16th.... Anyways, hubby just brought me my sewing machine last night and so far I have been able to make 7 pillows and so far 2 have been given so far. I'd like to thank everyone who has made the making of these pillows and putting the smiles on the childrens faces.

3-7-12

Today I am going to finally sew some of the pillow shells at home, this way I won't have to lug the sewing machine and fabric and stuffing and all other items needed up to the room at the hospital. Also, one of the nurses pointed out the the "Project Linus" people make their blankets/quilts at home and hten bring htem in. So that helped me a lot to realize that I could do these pillows her at home and then jsut stuuf them and sew up the opening at the hospital. Thank you all for all the donations. We will do our bes tto keep this going as long as the Lord allows. Please continue to spread the word and donate to help us with being a blessing to many, many children.

I ahve been busy making pillows for the kids while here at the hospital. We have handed out several and have also received clearance to add a couple of pics to the blog. So, below are some pics of me making the pillows and the finished pillows. The pics of the kids that we were able to get pics from are in the "Pics of Kids" link at the top of the page. May you all have a wonderfully blessed day.
